The great mimicker – Case report of eosinophilic granuloma of proximal radius and review of literature

Eosinophilic granuloma is an uncommon bone tumour consisting of circumscribed lesions the reticuloendothelial system usually confined to bone. We present a case report 28-year-old male who complaints swelling over proximal end radius associated with pain for duration 1 year. The patient was successfully treated open biopsy followed curettage and intralesional methyl prednisolone injection using Boyd’s approach. Histopathology reported lesion as eosinophilic granuloma. Patient up in our outpatient department found be symptom free evidence resolution tumour. This study adds current understanding treatment always diagnostic challenge surgeon. Clinical findings investigations are non-specific. immunohistochemistry still remains mainstay diagnosis EG. Always suspect it, lest you will miss it.
